Night Door Host/Porter 40 hours per week

Pelham House is looking for a friendly and professional night host/ porter to join out ream at the wonderful exclsuive use Wedding & Events Venue in the Town centre of Lewes.

Overseeeing the saftey and security of wholc premises overnight  incluing 29 Bedrooms, we are looking for a candidate to contribute to a wecloming environment. This role offers individuals an opportunity to work for an exciting wedding and Events company in an amazing setting.

Key responsibilities

• Security: Conducting regular, methodical security walks of the premises,, ensuring doors are locked, and monitoring CCTV systems.
• Monitor the entry and exit of people and vehicles. Ensure the safety and security of the premises by identifying and addressing any issues with noise...
• Guest Service: Providing a welcoming presence for guests, managing front receooption areas, ensuring guests are respectful to our neighbours with noise. Late check ins, and any additional ad- hoc requests, 
• Maintenance & Cleanliness: Tidying public areas (lobby, bar) and completing cleaning checklists to ensure the venue is presentable for morning staff.
• Emergency Response: Acting as the primary responder for fire alarms, maintenance faults, or medical incidents, and knowing evacuation procedures.
• Operational Support: Preparing for the next day by setting up breakfast/ wedding tables, processing night audits,polishing cutlery/ crockery and general table set up

Other skills & requirements

• Vigilance & Reliability: High level of trust, dependability, and attention to detail for solo working, this is a night shift.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to walk, stand, and some light lifting during night hours.
• Communication: Professional demeanor when communicating with guests and other team members, either in person, via phone, or by the front gate.
• Versatility: Capable of multitasking between guest requests and security checks, must be comforatble working alone, .
• Please note this work is seasonal so additional working hours would be expected during busier periods with time taken back during quieter periods.
